Java 8 представила пакет java.time (JSR-310) — современный, неизменяемый, потокобезопасный API для работы с датой и временем. Он заменил печально известные java.util.Date и Calendar. Основные типы: LocalDate (только дата), LocalTime (только время), LocalDateTime (оба), ZonedDateTime (с часовым поясом) и Instant (машинная временная метка).
