@RestController — это сокращение для @Controller + @ResponseBody. Он помечает класс как Spring MVC контроллер, где возвращаемое значение каждого метода записывается непосредственно в тело HTTP-ответа (сериализуется в JSON Jackson'ом). Аннотации маппинга на методах определяют, на какой HTTP-метод и URL отвечает каждый обработчик.
