В современном Linux для интерфейсов, адресов и маршрутов используют ip из пакета iproute2. Старый ifconfig встречается в документации, но на системах с несколькими адресами лучше ip. На десктопе часто NetworkManager (nmcli); на серверах — статика в /etc/netplan, interfaces или systemd-networkd.
